Keep Your Lamps, arranged by Andre Thomas, featuring guest artist Dr. John Wesley Wright, tenor. From the Earth Light concert on April 23, 2023.
There is a place for high quality chamber music in the Salisbury area, and I'm happy you chose to go and fill that space. I don't want to wish our year away, but I look forward to your next concert. Congratulations, and keep up the great work.
The Vox Concordia April concert was highlighted for me by the Benjamin Britten Canticle II, op. 51, "Abraham and Isaac." The story itself is moving, and the music and voices intensified the story. I loved the range of music from the Swahili setting of "The Lord's Prayer" to the traditional spiritual "Deep River" to the final "Jubilate Deo." The hours that all of you spent preparing for this concert were a gift to all of us in the audience. Thank you.
Vox Concordia is an exciting new, relatively small group of singers. In their first two concerts, these singers presented traditional and newly composed pieces. I have attended their two concerts and been amazed at the variety of selections and the warm wonderful sound these voices produce. The Salisbury area is fortunate to have such an exciting group to expand its musical enjoyment.
I had the pleasure of attending the second concert by Vox Concordia, a new choral group in Salisbury. It was an enjoyable and stimulating program. Under the direction of Veronica Tomanek, the group of talented singers performed some beautiful and challenging repertoire. I would encourage everyone to do your best to attend their next concert in November.
We are so lucky to have Vox Concordia and Veronica Tomanek here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Don't miss an opportunity to hear them in concert!
